    Salaams
I intend on coming to Cairo to study Arabic,
which institute do you recommend and can you assist me in getting an apartment at a good price?!

  14. Abu Masriyy Says:

    Walaikumusalaam wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakatu

Jazak Allaahu Khayran for your query,

The first thing we would say is may Allah accept your intention to learn the language of his Quran. However, and we ask this with the upmost sincerity, how will you be travelling? i.e. Will you be coming by yourself or with Mahram?

This is very important, as Shaikh Saleh Al Munajid points out on http://www.islamqa.com, (ref: 45917),

With regard to a woman travelling without a mahram, it is clearly not allowed, as in the hadeeth narrated by al-Bukhaari (1729) and Muslim (2391) from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No woman should travel except with a mahram, and no man should enter upon her unless a mahram of hers is present.”

Therefore our advice for you, our sister would be if your plans are to come out by yourself, please reconsider. And remember that it would be better for you to learn Arabic somewhere local to your home, and remember that your intention to learn Arabic will be sufficient for you inshAllah.

Al-Bukhaari (4423) narrated from Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came back from the campaign of Tabook and when he drew close to Madeenah he said: “In Madeenah there are some people who, whenever you marched or crossed a valley, were with you.” They said: “O Messenger of Allaah, but they were in Madeenah.” He said, “They were in Madeenah because some excuse kept them back.”

However, if you are coming with a Mahram, we would be happy to assist you. By the grace of Ar Rahman, we have some good contacts and can assist you in finding nice accomodation and an excellent teacher, inshAllah.

Please accept this advice with the sincerity with which it is given, as, the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “The religion is naseehah. Related by Tamim ad-Dari.

  20. Abu Ubaydah Says:
