It appears that one of the most renowned teaching institutes out here dissolved some time ago

Which institute would that be? Just curious

  6. Yusuf Says:

    That institute was/is Qortoba.

    Assalamu alaikum.

First of all, I apologise for the time it has taken for me to give an update.

I have now completed four weeks of study and alhamdulillah I can see the progress. However, it is sometimes hard to find the patience which is required to learn a language, and I need to keep reminding myself that before I can run, I need to walk, and before I can walk, I need to crawl. I’ve had the blessing of meeting some good brothers out here who have been giving me some very good advice, and when I don’t take it…I fall flat on my face I finding the motivation and energy to pick myself up can be a gruelling and time consuming affair. Having said that, I do not feel I have found my threshold with regard to study…maybe soon I can find this point and a way to study effectively inshAllah.

We had cable fitted a week or so ago, at first I thought this was a complete waste of time and would just be a distraction. On the contrary, it has proved to be a refreshing way to improve my listening and pick up a few new words as well. Although my level is way back on the basic level, alhamdulillah I am able to pick up the words I have learnt in the classes thus far. I must also mention the outstanding teaching quality my teacher mashAllah. Without him, I would probably be stuck at the “flat on my face point”. I won’t mention names, but I will say that I study in mahad teckniya, which I have found to be flawless to this date.

With azim gone for now, things around the house have been a little quieter than usual. (Yes – I do miss you bro!). But – my current housemate has been great company. As a relatively new muslim (it’s been a year now!) I feel benefit from him a lot. He talks a lot of good sense and it’s been a blessing that I’ve had the opportunity to live with him. He is due to move out of this flat in a couple of weeks, so I ask Allah to make things easy for him and his family in his new flat.

Other things…chatting with taxi drivers can be an “experience”. Ila masjid salaam min fadlika. Ayna?? Masjid salaam. Ahhhhhhhh masGid salaam!! 

    Must dash, salat al-isha.

    “The journey continues”.
